Director of the New Build Division
Some people manage construction projects. Nick builds futures. Where most see a set of plans, he sees possibility – a blank canvas that becomes a home, an investment, and a tangible piece of value for the community. As the Director of the New Build Division, Nick is the steady hand behind some of Better Path’s most meaningful projects, guiding each one from concept to completion with a blend of vision, discipline, and unwavering integrity.
Nick’s work sits at the intersection of creativity and execution. He’s responsible for orchestrating land acquisition, design, budgets, timelines, builders, and market strategy – all the moving parts that turn an idea into a finished home. And he doesn’t take that responsibility lightly. “There’s something really rewarding about managing all the moving pieces,” he says. “Every decision impacts the final product and the investment outcome.” That mindset is exactly why his builds stand out.
Building With Integrity – Even When It’s Hard
One of Nick’s defining traits is his refusal to cut corners. In new construction, there are always moments where “good enough” is tempting – a small issue that could be ignored, a conversation with a GC that could be avoided, a shortcut that would keep the schedule moving. But Nick doesn’t operate that way.
He recalls a moment when he chose the right thing over the easy thing: holding firm on build quality even when it meant slowing down a project. It required a tough conversation and a temporary setback, but it protected the investment and upheld the standard Better Path is known for. That’s Integrity and Extreme Ownership in action – the kind that pays off long after the drywall is up.
Nick knows that small compromises become big problems later. His leadership ensures they never get the chance.
Stewardship in Every Decision
For Nick, stewardship isn’t a buzzword – it’s the foundation of how he approaches every property. He sees each home as more than a structure. Behind every address is a story: a seller making a major life decision, a buyer investing in their future, a neighborhood evolving, a family preparing for a new chapter. His job is to honor that.
“Care shows up in the small things,” he says. “Quality control, accountability, honest communication, and pride in the finished product.”
Whether he’s evaluating land, managing a build, or preparing a home for market, Nick ensures the process respects both the investment and the people connected to it. That’s Stewardship at its highest level – thoughtful, intentional, and people‑first.
When Things Don’t Go as Planned
Construction is unpredictable. Delays happen. Budgets shift. Materials fall through. Inspections surprise you. Site conditions change. Nick doesn’t sugarcoat it – he leads through it.
When things go sideways, he stays calm, gathers the facts, and focuses on solutions instead of frustration. He evaluates the impact on the timeline, budget, and overall investment, then works with the right people to create a realistic path forward. It’s a masterclass in Hard Work and Extreme Ownership – not pretending everything is fine, but responding quickly and professionally when it isn’t.
“You can’t always control the issue,” he says, “but you can control how quickly and professionally you respond to it.”
That mindset is why his team trusts him, and why his projects stay on track even when the unexpected hits.
A Lesson That Changed His Leadership
Nick’s biggest professional shift came from realizing that communication and accountability aren’t just important – they’re everything. In new construction, nothing ever goes exactly as planned. Timelines move. Budgets flex. Problems appear out of nowhere.
Early in his career, Nick learned that avoiding a hard conversation only makes things worse. Now, he leads with clarity, urgency, and ownership. He asks better questions. He sets expectations earlier. He addresses issues directly instead of letting them linger.
This evolution reflects Personal & Professional Development at its best – the willingness to grow, adapt, and lead differently as the stakes get higher. It’s made him a stronger communicator, a more effective leader, and a cornerstone of the New Build Division.
